Somebody once said that in looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if you don’t have the first, the other two will kill you.

About Us
Established in 2007 as a general purpose energy commodities trader and upstream oil & gas service sector provider, RBC has its first trading roots in coal movements. The Company has skilled assets in the coal and liquid fuels supply flow chain, upstream oil & gas exploration & production services, and in the last few years, focussed on the emerging utilities policy and subsequent downstream energy commodities movements.
Our values are distilled in the following:-
Integrity, Courage & Strength to Prevail.
Industrial Inertia
History
Coal
As core business, RBC has been actively placing steam coal in the pulp and paper, cement and utilities industries in China, India, Malaysia and Thailand with the support of our partners and associates.
Please see Products for more information.
Barging
The Company's landmark inaugural charter was in 2008 for a cargo of 8,300 MT of coal from Indonesia to Thailand. This was followed by a series of spot and term charters, carrying various bulk cargoes from coal to sand, trading from Cambodia, Indonesia Thailand & Vietnam.
Our clients include local industrial players as well as large Thai corporate firms such as IRPC Pcl, a refiner and utility owner.
Advisory
RBC has functioned regularly as advisors in the solid and liquid fuels industry especially in the realm of Indonesia–Thailand relations.
We continue to endeavor in this scope with support from a mature network of top-name financial advising firms, ship owners, producers, end-users and traders.
Oil & Gas
We have advised on a technical level with data access to onshore oil concessions with third-party consultant participation for companies looking to acquire such assets.
Additionally, RBC has had consultancy contracts with facilities builders in matters of commercial expansion.
Utilities
RBC has experience in the feasibility studies of construction of a coal-based fuel fired (VSPP) power plant in Thailand. We continue to work with significantly larger utilities to address fuel—wet and dry—supply chain issues.
Products & Services
Coal
As of 2013, RBC markets the following coal:
Logistics
RBC works with a pool of owners of barges, tankers & truck fleets (in Thailand); we are equipped to support logistics for wet or dry bulk cargo movements.
Consultancy
RBC offers advisory on a selective basis in the energy sector markets, primarily in raw material purveyance.
- Coal—non-coking, non-anthracite;
- Palm kernel shell;
- Wet fuels, such as diesel oil;
- Cement;
- Gypsum.
Ports & Geography
South Sumatra
RBC supplies offtake coal primarily from Sumatra. As with any species of natural resources, Indonesian coals are peculiar region-to-region. Sumatra coals albeit higher in natural moisture, are generally low in ash and sulfur, masking an inherently high calorific value.
Sumatra roads are generally public roads of good quality and endowed with easy sea-lane shipping options. Our production in South Sumatra is trucked or barged to Palembang, consolidated and shipped. From Palembang shipping distance is close to Malaysia and Thai coasts on either the Indian Ocean or Gulf of Thailand. Geographically, Sumatra is more attractive for shipments to key India markets.
S. & E. Kalimantan
Kalimantan is the key production coal center in Indonesia. Most of the top tonnage producers, i.e., Adaro, Berau, Bumi, Banpu, carve out their concessions here. As with Sumatra, Kalimantan is also strategically placed with good shipping logistics to bring product to market. The coal produced here is also high quality, though commercial transaction risk is high due to frequent non-performance by small trading entities.
Bangkok
Bangkok is a major seaport and commercial port hub that supports many industrial producers. Even as Thailand evolves, there is a strong core backbone of industrial output in the central economic zone. We deliver coal here.
The industrial city of Rayong houses the majority of Thailand's refineries (and deep sea ports), large-production cement plants in Saraburi, pulp & paper mills in Bang Prakong, heavy-industry fabricators and utilities are located in the vicinity of Bangkok.
Surat Seaboard
Gypsum from Surat Thani is delivered to our group clients in Malaysia, from whom the Group further buys cement which is distributed to industrial and commercial projects. RBC has a long-term view on Surat Thani as a logistics and material supply base supporting the Southern (Thai) Seaboard. The placement and local conditions are excellent in the development of future scale plans in industrial and even utilities support.
